How Often Should You Wash Hair Extensions?
We recommend washing your hair extensions 2-3 times a week. It depends on your natural hair and how oily it tends to get. It’s not ideal to wash hair extensions daily but equally allowing the hair to become greasy can cause moisture to build up in the bonds and cause premature shedding.
We therefore recommend washing your hair extensions a couples of times a week.
Can I wash My Extensions Normally?
You can wash your hair extensions much like you would your natural hair. The hair we use is all 100% human hair, so please treat it like your own hair, with one exception. Do not apply conditioner to the roots of the hair near the bonds. Do not massage conditioner into the scalp. Instead, shampoo your hair normally, ensuring to get in-between the bonds with your fingers, rinse and repeat if required.
Following shampooing, you can and should condition the hair extensions but we recommend you apply conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends of the hair only. Try grabbing the hair as if you were putting it into a ponytail and apply conditioner downwards.
You can apply oils and serums to the mid-lengths and ends once towel dried of after styling but do not apply oils or serums to the roots or near the bonds as this can cause shedding of the hair.
